内容提要
This talk aims to provide a comprehensive review and critique of research that has been conducted since the late 80s in the learning and teaching of Chinese as a second or foreign language. The review focuses on the following subareas: aspects of the Chinese as a foreign language (CFL) reading process, grammar competence development, pronunciation development, pragmatic development and field building.
【主讲嘉宾简介】
Dr. Chuanren Ke (Ph. D. in Linguistics, Ph. D. Minor in Psychology, Indiana University at Bloomington) is Professor of Chinese and Professor of Second Language Acquisition at The University of Iowa and Zijiang Chair Professor(紫江学者)at East China Normal University in Shanghai. Professor Ke is an advisor for Ph. D. students in Second Language Acquisition (SLA) at The University of Iowa. He is a leading scholar in Chinese SLA theory and research. His current Chinese SLA research program focuses on reading (including orthography and vocabulary), assessment, and grammar. Professor Ke is the Principal Investigator of a landmark study (funded by The Henry Luce Foundation) on L2 Chinese acquisition in the United States and in study abroad contexts. Ke is also the director and lead author of CCALT (Chinese Computerized Adaptive Listening Comprehension Test), a web-based computer adaptive test. Professor Ke has been Principal Investigator for several external grants for institutional development (including three major ones from the Freeman Foundation from 2006 to 2008 and one continuing one from Hanban since 2006). Ke is also the Guest Professor of Beijing Language and Culture University Center for the Studies of Chinese as a Second Language and Guest Professor at Southeast University in Nanjing. He is the Immediate Past President of the U.S. National Chinese Language Teachers Association (CLTA) and founding director of Confucius Institute at the University of Iowa.
